R-EqualsMe LLC began with a simple annoyance: the public record about a person is easy for an office to produce and hard for a person to find. We sit in the middle and do the finding.
Why the company exists
A woman in Aurora was told her rental application failed on a record she had never seen. A contractor in Denver found a lien index entry against a parcel he had sold years earlier. Neither could get a straight read on what the file actually said, because the file lives in an index, and indexes are written for clerks.
We started R-EqualsMe LLC to answer one question properly: what does the public record say, exactly, and where does it say it? Not what someone remembers, not what a data broker resells, but what the custodian's own index shows on the day we look.
The name is the whole idea. The record, R, should equal the person it describes, Me. When it does not, we show you the gap and explain which office can close it.
We are a research company. We are not a law firm, not a credit bureau and not a data broker. We do not buy or sell personal data; we read what public offices publish and write it down.
The rules we work by
Three rules, printed on the wall of the Aurora office and repeated in every report we issue.
Source or silence
Every statement in a report carries its source. If we cannot source a line, the line does not appear.
Nothing about strangers
We research records about you, your property, or a person or entity you are authorised in writing to act for. We do not run searches on people who have not asked.
Silence is a finding
An index that returns nothing is reported as nothing, with the query we ran. An empty answer is still an answer, and it is often the one you needed.

Where we work
Front Range first
Our indexes of habit are Colorado's: the counties of the Front Range, the Denver district courts, the Secretary of State's business filings, and the assessor and recorder offices between Aurora and Fort Collins. When a question leads out of state, we take it on only if that state's custodian publishes an index we can search honestly.
The office keeps ordinary hours and answers the telephone in them. If you would rather write, the address below reaches a person.
